I often get asked by friends and clients what they can snack on before or after their workouts. I mainly suggest pairing protein rich foods with their snacks - for example a handful of nuts and a piece of fruit, apple slices spread with nut butter, a slice of cheese with crudités, protein rich yoghurt or even a protein smoothie. 

But what about when you are craving a sweet treat, that 3pm slice of cake or early morning breakfast bar on your way out the door to the gym? 

I've rounded up my favourite sugar-free bakes for perfect pre- and post- workout snacks. Get your bake on and that's your snack prep done to last the whole week ... or will they!?

Starting the weekend off right with a frozen smoothie from Pulp'd after work on Friday
Followed by a Thali and Wine date with the Boy after chacking out a new project
Watching The Eiger Sanction with friends...and falling asleep
Having a slow start for Saturday, before spending the day doing some work & project planning - with a quick coffee at The Depot
Watching The Walk after dinner, and loving it
Starting Sunday off with a 5 mile run before coffee with a friend.
Heading into town with the Boy to continue our movie weekend
Homity Pie for lunch at Marmadukes, followed by Bourne at the Curzon
Lazy Bank Holiday Monday with an 8 mile hike to eat the best ice cream in the city from Our Cow Molly. 
Cooking a roast beef dinner and opening a bottle of red. 
Here's to the week ahead.
