Local Tonic : Meadow Bouquets with Campbell's Flowers

There's a florist in Sheffield who runs her booming business from the converted basement of her home - a subterranean store of blooms ready to welcome many an excited bride or gift-giver. If you're lucky the small alley running up the front door will let you in on a teaser of what's to come, buckets of blooms often set out to condition in the cool air.

Tracey of Campbell's flowers has recently started taking her floristry out and about around Sheffield to host local workshops for anyone out there fancying themselves with a bit of flowery flair, or who simply wants to learn something new.

I joined Tracey and some lovely ladies at Seven Hills Bakery's new premises on Sharrowvale Road last week, and sustained with a coffee and cake, proceeded to create a gorgeous handtied bouquet and buttonhole.

It was wonderful to discover a new coffee shop, chat to some local business women and finally leave with a bouquet fit for a meadow bride that now has pride of place on my dining table.

Be warned friends of mine with birthday's coming up, a bouquet will be on its way to you, care of my newly found floral fingers.
