Business Tonic {Patisserie Rose}

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Today is the start of a little series I have in the pipeline, 'Business Tonic'. I've always professed to support small local businesses and today is the beginning of their presence here on Curious Tonic!

It would seem apt to start, therefore, with my own foray into the world of business.

You may know me previously as the Laura behind The Mrs Makes (blog, online shop and DIY services), having worked on wedding styling, photo shoots and as a copy writer and social media manager for the gorgeous Boho Weddings, as a freelance graphic designer for small business branding, a baker for friend's and colleagues weddings and parties, a photographer for small business social media feeds, converting a Land Rover into a coffee shop and, finally, a Ph.D graduate.

So, its fair to say I have some strings to the proverbial bow.

There are many local businesses I've already mentioned or reference on this blog. Makala Jewellery, Boxed Brownies, Lemon Freckles, TDC, Of Alp and Ash, Take Aim Photography... the list could go on. All businesses I consider friends of mine and who I love to shout about.

But today, I'm going to do a bit of self promotion. Because where best to start this series than right here in my own kitchen.

You may have noticed some recent images on Curious Tonic's instagram feed of delicious macarons. Well, if you guessed correctly it is because I've recently developed my patisserie passion and have opened Patisserie Rose.

'Delicate and deliciously light, the macaron is made from a gluten-free meringue combination of whipped egg whites, fine sugar and triple- sieved almond flour. Two shells are sandwiched together with a flavourful filling of ganache, buttercream or jam in order to create the sophisticated French patisserie. The colourful shells have a light, crisp exterior with a soft chewy interior, whilst the filling delivers complimentary flavour and creaminess.'

Logo, website and details were all created from scratch by myself, as I do love to create beautiful branding and really wouldn't dream of getting it done by anyone else.

Photos were taken by the lovely Emma of Oh Gosh, and we had good fun one afternoon styling, snapping and maybe a little sampling...

So, what do we do?
We are available for weddings, parties and events. Can stock your tea rooms or cafe with our treats and will soon be shipping gift boxes nationwide via our online shop!

Big news this week is that we have been announced as a stockist at the soon-to-be-opened Vintedge tea rooms, have our first wedding booking of 2016 and have a guest spot on the counter at Four Corners round the corner from our kitchen. If you are local, come and see us at the #Octeaber charity event in Mugen Tea House on Saturday 24th October, 2-4pm.
